The present buildings of the Pikajärve manor date back to the von Mueller era: most of the ensemble was built in the early 1900s. A number of rubble stone auxiliary buildings have been preserved. The cosy and spacious rooms of the main manor building house up to 56 persons. Spend a historical night in the luxurious Count's and Countess' Suites. The castle suits perfectly for hosting your business partners or holding seminars. You can enjoy a good sauna either in the manor's spa sauna or on board a sauna boat on Lake Pikajärve. Fans of active tourism can take a ride on a canoe or aquabike, catch a trout or participate in a bloodless bow hunt.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful place, a great place to relax with family. Clean and very cozy, homey feeling. Super friendly staff, great food. Rich breakfast. The playground was a favorite for children and the whole family.

We booked two rooms. It is freezing outside and we were given rooms no 14 and 15. No 14 was told to be a little chilly, but in fact it was very cold with no working heating system. There was a possibility to use a kind of a fireplace, but it was quite useless as it did not provide enough heat. There was unpleasant smell in the room, no place to charge the phone unless unplugging the table lamp. Shower possibility was only sitting on the toilet seat and even this tiny toilet was freezing cold. We were told to keep toilet door closed so the cold air would not come to our room. This hotel is not suitable for family vacations or for any vacation. Restaurant on the other hand was quite ok. The food was fine (beef, trout, pork and pancakes were good, but caesar salad wasn’t good at all), the waitress was very helpful, but as a background music they use disco music from radio that is not suitable for castle. This building is very poorly maintained, this could be the place to visit, but I would not recommend to stay there. This is heavily overpriced as well, considering such a poor quality. Hopefully one day someone will renovate this historical place and give it new glory days.

We stayed for one night with the family (2 kids). We had a nice big room with one two person bed and two one person beds. The room was clean and very comfortable with era true interior. The food was excellent. We had muhsroom soup and pancakes. The place is run by a family and they have done a very good job. The service is friendly. We also visited the kids playpark which was a lot of fun and had a lot of different activities.

this is not a hotel you can expect in the current century. the experience is like in a movie from some 100 years ago. an really old building with all the stuff you may had 100 years ago. all clean. don't expect to much. but it is definitely worth if you are looking for an experience ;-). I recommend it and would definitely go again.

The mansion is a nice, cozy and romantic. There are a lot of interesting details. The tunnel, which goes to the spa is very exciting. Staff was very caring and attentive. The food was very tasty. But... Rooms and furniture are a bit worn and need to repair. Spa is a beautiful with large swimming pool. But the main pool is dirty. On the edge of jacuzzi is dirty line. This could be a super place if there is invested.

Menu is different on website and in castle. Food was really bad and took quite long time! We ordered everything before arriving from internet but when arrived there were no desserts we wanted. Although castle and surroundings are pretty nice.

We stayed in a double room (12) that was literally so small you couldn't turn around. The "antique" bed was an old broken second-hand soviet textile bed where you feel like sleeping in a hole. Bathroom was dirty and terrible. If you sit in a toilet you cannot close the door, because otherwise your feet don't fit in! Our experience was far from enjoying a stay in an historical building. It looks like straight from a horror movie. Unless you like to be in it, we recommend to consider another place to stay for a night. We learned after the stay that the building used to be a psyhciatric carehome for elderly people throughout most of the 20th century (1920's until 1994). More sensitive guests will definitely feel the exact energy while staying the night. The staff in the hotel also fits perfectly to the screenplay. It is definitely an experience to remember, unfortunately it wasn't a pleasant one for us. Wouldn't stay another night even if someone would pay us for it!

Can't sleep, cause the room stinks of varnish and moisture Can't eat, cause the eggs you're eating have been boiled for two centuries Can't wash your teeth, cause the water is smelly and brown A creepy, over prized experience.

We stayed at Cantervilla Castle for one night and two days and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Cantervilla Castle has plenty of character and atmosphere, and such an individual place to stay. Our Hosts bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and the service was impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed here in winter when it was quiet and had the whole place to ourselves, but were treated so well. We would really recommend staying at Cantervilla Castle if you want an old fashioned, unique experience, that you won't find anywhere else at such a good price. For us, our stay was a very positive and happy experience.

We had a nice room (32) with an OK bathroom, but our friends in room 34 had to have a shower on the toilet. The rooms are nice and so was the Mängumaa amusement park next door (tickets were included in our room price. Breakfast was also ok.
