For some time now we have been searching for an overnight stop on our frequent visits from East Lancashire to the Scottish Highlands & Islands and now we have found the perfect place. The Robertson is an unexpected little gem of a hotel in an otherwise dull and drab village. When you walk in you are met with a hotel,... More

this is a nice place to stay, central between Glasgow and Edinburgh. with comfy beds and good food, the bottled beer is nice (and strong) and most of the staff very friendly and helpful, the quiz night was good fun too, I would stay again.

I must go here for dinner a couple of times a month. It's a standing joke in my family that if I have a free night I will be found in the robertsons. Food is amazing and consistent at that. We bring friends from far and wide who all rave about it. Have eaten in the main restaurant and also... More

Great choice of menu with home made choices - went with family and everyone's meal looked so good we all wanted a taste of each others to plan for a return visit. Very relaxing atmosphere and waiter with a sense of humour cracking jokes with what was clearly regular customers. Always a good sign. Children were made very welcome. Car... More

Found myself needing accommodation twice within a month in this area and was so impressed on my first visit I didn't hesitate to rebook for the second trip. Dined on both occasions and found the service and food quality excellent and great value for money. Very impressive wine list that's not overpriced either. Will definitely be back..the rooms are very... More

This is the friendliest place that we have been to in a long time. Great interaction with adults and kids alike. Decided at last minute to go out for meal before schools went back on the Monday. Food is first class and very reasonable . Will definitely be back.

Had bed and breakfast here on 1/12/12. Having booked a few weeks previously two of us checked in early evening. We were given a front door key in addition to the room key which was handy as we were going to a party and expected to return in the wee small hours, this was no problem. The room was a... More

9 of us arrived for a drink - the place was empty. We decided to order some food and the manager actually shouted at me as he was taking the orders as I had caused him to get mixed up with the order. He complained that he had a lot of bookings for that night and three of his staff... More

I am disappointed you did not enjoy your visit for drinks and a bite to eat. The Bistro was empty as it was the time between afternoon tea and dinner. Three members of staff where about to arrive for the busy evening service. Two of your party left very favourable comments on our cards which we provided for guests to... More

This family run village hotel is a real find. They serve not only superb bistro food but also fine dining with really original dishes in the very attractive dining room. This small hotel has just been placed inthe top three hotels in Great Britain for Best Service and they really deserve this. They have 7 double rooms and 2 singles... More
