A tremendous stay i may 2013 before the blooming of the appletrees. An experience far beyond!!! The view, the hikes, the scenery of waterfalls, churches and mountainfarms have to be discovered and seen by many visitors. And the stay at the farm itself, beautiful.

This farm compound, converted into a B&B, is run by Asbjorn and Marie. They provide cozy rooms, superb food, and, if you want, Asbjorn will guide you on some excellent local hikes. The view of the waterfall across the fjord is not to be missed. They are very busy in the high season so reserve early.

We were 14 friends spending a wonderful hiking weekend in August here. We got all rooms on the second floor in the main building, and just loved the place! Everything already written about the place, the house, the food and the couple running this place is true - this place is a pearl. After having been here in the summer,... More

We spent 2 nights here. Great view, great family room with view over fjord and of waterfall. Breakfast was excellent with the opportunity to make a good lunch. The hosts were always helpful. We also opted for 2 evening meals which were of a very high standard. Our two teenage children actually enjoying food they would normally refuse. Great base... More

Charming and friendly don't even begin to describe this place. I guess you could say it's a bit out of way but isn't that where you are going when you a seeing the fjords? What a location and view of the fjord right from the property or walk down the hill to get a closer look. Quite the scene as... More

We arrived at the lovely and quaint Nes Gard after a many hours drive and found a charming farmstead, kind and attentive staff, and quiet surroundings to explore. Our family of four stayed for nearly a week, venturing off each morning with a picnic packed during breakfast, and a thermos of hot chocolate. We hiked all day every day in... More

Outstanding service, assistance with area plans. Asbjorn is quick to email and answer any questions. Very amiable and knowledgable. The dinners are reasonably priced and outstanding--far better than anything else in the area. Breakfast is a full Norwegian buffet. This is a great location for many day trips in the most scenic fjord area. We so enjoyed looking at the... More

We recently stayed in one of the cottages at this Nes Gard hotel/bed and breakfast. The host and hostess are delightful and very helpful in arranging local hiking trips. They serve great breakfasts and dinners. You can pack a lunch too for your daily adventures. The view overlooking the fjord alone would make this hotel a good choice, but the... More
