we stayed for three days in one of the log cabins with a grass roof here, looking down over the lake. it was supposed to sleep eight but two adults and two kids squeezed in. there's only one small bathroom and tiny kitchenette so eight would really struggle. but it's nice a homely with a big cupboard of games and a TV with mostly norwegian channels. but it's warm and there's a nice sun deck.
the main hotel building was almost deserted as it was way out of season. the kids had gone back to school, there was only a few patches of snow on the mountain tops and the weather was mild. the hotel pool was shut but the restaurant was open and the food was good. the evening dinners had no choice but we good quality and with friendly service. they dealt with our troublesome little kids well. the owner and staff were always cheerful and helpful. breakfast was the usual quirky scandinavian buffet of wafers, bread, meat and cheese, but there was plenty and we made outselves a packed lunch...
