This hotel offers a nice retreat. On entering the hotel the smell of the log fire helps create a warm, rustic atmosphere. The hotel is not new and modern but, it oozes personality. My room was small but it had a view of the sea. The wind was noisy and the windows were not perfectly sealed from the elements. It wasn't a problem for me (and there is a thermostat in the room which I did not adjust). The I found the staff to be helpful, without being obtrusive.

It is on the sea-front and it was nice to go for walks/runs on the beach. However, there was no obvious single path from the hotel to the beach.

The restaurant is top class. I had some tasty meals here: fish, reindeer, lamb. The special menu (featuring the lamb) was the best.

It can be noisy at night (lively chat mainly) but it ended each night around midnight. There is free internet connection in the lobby but it's fairly slow. There is supposed to be a connection in the bedroom as well but it didn't... more
