We have stayed here for 5 nights during the low skiing season of January. The cottages are beautiful, made of wood with central heating and optional wood fire which we used only once as we were given free logs of wood. We had two bedrooms upstairs with 5 beds and a main bedroom downstairs, bathroom, kitchen with open plan dining and lounge, entry hall with shoe drying and outside ski storage. The cottage is not huge but big enough for us and 5 children aged 4 - 16 years. TV has mostly Norwegian programmes but you don't go to Geilo to watch TV. A car is a must as the town centre is a LONG WALK away but a short car drive....you can stock on groceries there, there is an excellent pizza shop, clothes shop, but it's a very small town so don't expect night life. The cottages are a walk from one of the main skiing areas which are covered with fresh snow. Geilo is blessed with fresh snow and empty slopes, we never waited for a lift and there were hardly any people on the slopes due to the low... more
