We have stayed here for 5 nights during the low skiing season of January. The cottages are beautiful, made of wood with central heating and optional wood fire which we used only once as we were given free logs of wood. We had two bedrooms upstairs with 5 beds and a main bedroom downstairs, bathroom, kitchen with open plan dining and lounge, entry hall with shoe drying and outside ski storage. The cottage is not huge but big enough for us and 5 children aged 4 - 16 years. TV has mostly Norwegian programmes but you don't go to Geilo to watch TV. A car is a must as the town centre is a LONG WALK away but a short car drive....you can stock on groceries there, there is an excellent pizza shop, clothes shop, but it's a very small town so don't expect night life. The cottages are a walk from one of the main skiing areas which are covered with fresh snow. Geilolia have two types of accommodation - apartments in the center of Geilo, and cabins right at the bottom of the chairlift at the ski area of Geilo. We stayed for one night in a cabin, on our way from Oslo to Bergen (Geilo is a great place to stop in the middle of the way).

The cabins are excellent - a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a fireplace and TV, a few bedrooms, a hallway for storing your ski equipment (if you're there for skiing), a small sauna - all in high standard and good quality. Like in all cabins in Norway, you are expected to use your own bed linen (or hire their for an extra fee), and to fully clean the cabin upon departure (or pay a huge extra for them to do it).

Overall - excellent quality at high prices and superb location.
