This was everything that you could expect for a very reasonably priced hotel. It's in a popular tourist area but set back so it is not too noisy (many hotels in St Juliansare very noisy - which is fine if that's the sort of holiday you're looking for). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and... more

Booked online independently from travel agents after finding a rate of £6.35 per person per night for a twin bed room. I think some of the negative reviews this hotel has attracted are unfair when when considers the price (unless others paid a fair bit more I suppose). The room was basic, but perfectly functional and acceptable, breakfast was fine... more

booked this holiday after looking at reviews on this hotel on trip advisor. after requesting a higher floor with seaview we (my husband and I) were given 2nd floor room 22. I just don't know what these people that gave ok reviews were thinking when they gave their accounts but there was no way this hotel is 3 star. the... more

The rooms and the furniture are very tired and basic, but they are clean and linen is changed daily. The staff are lovely and very welcoming even at 3 in the morning when we turned up after a typically delayed flight out of Terminal 4! When we booked I asked about tea making facilities in the rooms, they said they... more

We specifically requested a double bed room but got a two twin beds room, furthermore with very small beds and really tired mattresses. The room itself was a little depressing, the bathroom was ok, the TV was only half working. The breakfast was really poor. We don't know exactly what the standard is in Malta, but this hotel is definitvely... more

The Alfonso is a small 28 room hotel. The rooms we were in were OK, nothing special, but a little bit 'tired'. Could do with some money spending on it. The staff were very friendly, helpful and corteous. The breakfast hit the spot until late in the day. It was well presented and plentiful. I can highly recommend the coffee.... more

Rooms are basic, but roomy and comfortable and clean & tidy. Breakfast was included and did the job for the morning start to the day. Included juices, tea, coffee, breads, jams and honey, Swiss cheese, cold cuts and hard boiled eggs. St Julian’s is very much a party area and the noise during the night was noticeable, but not to... more

Stayed at Alfonso for 9 nights in early September. Great location, close to several great value restaurants, nightlife at Paceville and lovely walk along the prom to Sliema. Wonderful Italian family run hotel, clean with spacious rooms with fantastic view over the harbour. The staff were pleasant and could not do enough to cater for all your needs. Had great... more
