I attended a course in Bracknell last week at very short notice, meaning my accomodation options were limited. However, I was able to book a room at Oakview B&B without any difficulty.
Upon arriving I rang the door bell, to be greeted warmly by a woman with a very blunt "Yes?". I explained I'd made a reservation and was shown upstairs to my room, via the tiled hallway and up the tiled stairs....very stylish.
My room was very small, but since I'd only paid £39 I can't complain about that. The room was also tiled in the same manner as everthing else in the hotel. Apart from the plain duvet cover, matress, net curtains and blind, there were no soft furnishings, pictures or anything else to make the B&B warm and welcoming...I don't need a lot, but enough to take away the echo every time you speak would be a start.
I watched TV and went to bed, only to find the duvet was shorter than my body. At about 5:50 am I was awoken by a cheesy saxophone...
