If only the rooms would have been like the ones they have on the hotel's website. The room we stayed in (room 132) was dirty, dusty and the bathroom was like a school gym shower from the 70s. I don't think that the cleaning staff had opened the window to let some fresh air in for at least a year.... more

You really need a car to get into town as the hotel is in an industrial estate.Check in was ok. We asked for late check out but were told ther was none. (even though we had agreed on that when booked) Quite expensive to stay considering how far away it was. Wireless free which was good. Room size quite large... more

I had stayed twice at Comwell during my visit to Denmark and I would rate this small and sweet hotel as the Best of all hotels I have stayed so far. Sonderborg is a small village in Denmark and Comwell seems to be the one among the few hotels situated over there. But nevertheless there werent any compromises. Situated on... more

I work in DK and wanted to have a "get away from it all" few days by the sea. Sønderborg turned out to be a wonderful place for such a venture: it's got a terrific hike & bike trail by the beach, a spa in the adjoining town, Kråsten (15 km), and an overall delightful, idyllic ambience. But the hotel... more

Stayed 2 nights at the Comwell last week on a business trip. Hotel is centrally located in Sonderborg, easy walking distance to the fjord, castle, shopping areas, & restaurants. Staff was 'efficient', but not overly friendly. English is well understood. Rooms are 'stark' & basic - beds, TV, minibar, towels - and 'well used' - but very clean. Not overly... more

Really nice hotel. We stayed in a river view room. It was a little more money than the standard room and it made a huge difference. The hotel is situated pretty close to the water and in a nice and cozy part of town. The restaurant is pricey, but the breakfast (which was included) was great. There were a lot... more

A big hotel in a small town. Rooms are of good size, nice bathrooms. The furnitures are a little worn out, but considering the provincial location it is absolutely ok. Make sure to book a room with ocean view. Staff is excellent and very helpfull. Breakfast is good, nice pool. My only complaint is the elevator is too slow. more

Not a very exciting place to stay. I would recommend something closer to the downtown area. There are not many choices in this area, but you can do better for the money. I stayed here for a about a week while working in Sonderborg-great city that I would like to visit again, but I would not stay here unless absolutely... more

Room furniture was basic and looked old. Light was dim. Bathroom was not perfect clean, shower faucet was clogged. Be careful with the key when you open your door : it's done so that you hurt your hand. Nice park & countryside around. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was ok, lots of choice. more

Not many frills. No in-room coffee service as an example. Nice pool and sauna. WiFi if you ask for the card. Clean, not especially comfortable-- and no carpet in the rooms which may or may not be suitable for some. Restaurant was ok, nothing special; many are nearby. Breakfast buffet was skimpy, not what one expects in 4 star hotels.... more
