I recently stayed here for 3 nights and found this hotel very comfortable and ideally located for visiting all the amazing sites of wonderful Merida. I was a little disappointed that the rooftop pool and terrace was not yet open for summer on June 1st and with temperatures of 30 degrees. However, this turned out to be a good thing... More

The most impressive side of this hotel is no doubt its façade to the much alive square outside. Its clear that this is the main hotel of Merida. The square is noisy and full of people wish I guess is exciting to some people. I needed rest and was happy to find that the window that our room had to... More

While this hotel is technically 5 star I would say that it has missed the mark slightly. However it is still a lovely hotel and excellent for the cost per night. Situated in the centre of Merida a very pretty traditional Spanish town, very few people speak English even in the hotel, although this added to the charm. Our rooms... More

Loved everything about this hotel, room was fantastic as were the common areas, everything had quality and character. Located in the main square of the town, convenient for the Roman sites plus bars and restaurants. Parking was easy, pull in front of the hotel and unload and they will then valet park your car for 16 euros a day. Just... More

Imagine staying at a 5 star hotel and the following happening. We arrived at the hotel on Friday evening. My partner decided to have a shower to freshen up after the drive. While in the shower the door (typical thick glass shower door on a bath/shower set up) fell off the hinges and fell on his foot. There was blood... More

This hotel is a converted mansion in the main square of Merida opposite the Town Hall. The lobby is of breathtaking beauty. The rooms are large with modern bathrooms and tastefully decorated. However, guests must beware the possible appearance of the occasional cockroach. The staff does not speak English except for a couple of receptionists. There is WiFi in the... More

A renaissance palace in the central square of Merida, well renovated as a luxury hotel. Great breakfast buffet , do not miss the cured ham (jambon iberico) with grilled bread and tomato spread, the real breakfast in the south of Spain. The room was small in size, just under the roof, but with a great view on a stoke nest... More

The Merida Palace is classified as a "five star." It is not, in my opinion!!!! It is in a nice location with a certain amount of charm but it is old. I hate to lift up the toilet seat in a "five star hotel" to find that the paint flaking off and there is a black ring around it because... More

This was a late booking, and we got a great deal - representing real value for money. Even without this, the Merida Palace is a really good hotel. Yes, you need to speak some Spanish (lets face it, it is Spain) but the staff are very friendly and helpful if you make the effort. We had a room overlooking the... More
