Yes indeed, the grounds are beautiful. My kids loved the pool! But the first night we didn't have any air conditioning (broken), they moved us to another room, which was fine. The rooms could use some updating. The bedspreads are ancient. What bothered me most about this place was the attitude of the staff. They are very aloof in manner.... more

Trabulsis Young couple Princeton, United States of America June 2009 - Great all around: close to major castles and central location to see all of Tuscany, in the heart of the countyside close to charming Chianti and Monteriggioni, great breakfast in beautiful dining area, quiet, very polite and friendly staff, relaxing gardens, ideal for wedding / anniversary celebartion, but still... more

After several days in Rome and Florence, and a hot day sightseeing, our arrival in the Tuscan countryside at the Borgo San Luigi was just what we needed. Visually it is magnificent: long entry drive lined in lavender and tall trees ending at a beautiful stone main inn with a picturesque view of the sparkling olympic size pool lined by... more

Had a great 3 days. With my parents and 10 year old son and everyone enjoyed the place. Rooms comfortable and very clean and the staff all extremely pleasant and helpful. We ate in the restaurant the first night, not cheap but not that expensive when compared to other similar places around Tuscany. There were a couple of smallish sized... more

This place is out in the middle of NO WHERE!!! There is no shuttle service, no tours, nothing. The resort has the potential to be amazing but it's not. The pool location horrible, the staff are so so. They hose you on everything, but you are pretty much at their mercy as there is nothing else around for miles. We... more

We stayed at San Luigi last July and it was absolutely fabulous. This is a hotel with character and typically 'Tuscan'. It has cobbled pathways and beautiful features that make this hotel idyllic. Our room was a junior suite which had a four poster king size bed and plenty of room for our two children. The staff are friendly and... more

Borgo San Luigi was quaint, yet elegant, with unsurpassed beauty. We were there in the fall with the colorful changing leaves. After having spent 3 days in fast paced, traffic frenzied Rome, this was a welcomed retreat. The meticulously manicured grounds, friendly staff and terrific food were out of this world. The variety of fresh baked breads served with the... more

We booked a junior suite. The hotel location, grounds, and pool were lovely. The 'junior' suite, resembled a cave, the only light ,coming from the front door ,with a mezzanine area for sleeping up a wooden open staircase and not enough height to avoid hitting ones head. Once in the bedroom area, my husband of 6' 1" could not stand... more

If you are looking for a quiet hotel in Tuscany with great service, don't even think about Borgo San Luigi. Despite the beauty of this hotel, it easily holds the distinction of the most disappointing place we have ever stayed. Simply stated, the hotel does not provide service to its guests. The guests are there to give money to the... more

The Borgo San Luigi grounds are very well kept. The buildings have a great deal of character. The pool area and terraces, courtyards are all very nice. The restaurant served a lot of tuscan menu choices and overall was quite good. The room are serviced only once every seven days and although internet access is advertised as complimentary there was... more
