Beautiful Stay at the Letcher Boutique Hotel Duinoord! Peaceful and nature beauty! Don't stay here if you intend to go out at night and like something local because this place will not be it. In fact you might as well stay in Leiden or elsewhere besides Wassenaar, but I love this town and this location of the hotel. Near the beach, take a little hike or bike ride and enjoy nature! Def will stay here again

The toilet in bedroom 104 does not have a door so there is no privacy. The room is so small that it is not possible to walk around the bed. There is no sound proofing, you can hear every drip (and more) of next door's shower and toilet. There was a lot of dust and other detritus (old Covid masks) under the bed. The manager promised a discount but this was a lie as he did not send a form as promised or even reply to emails. There is no safe space to leave a bag as the staff on reception are also bar staff.

The room was extremely small. On top of being small, half the room had a beam that would work for short people, but not tall ones. The side tables were so small, you could not use them even to put a book on it. The light was also inadequate. Impossible to read in bed. There is no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up two levels, not an easy task for someone over 65. We picked the larger of the 2 rooms that were available. I can not even begin to imagine what the smaller room must be like.

We loved our stay at the Duinoord. It was very well run. The breakfast is excellent. The family suite we had was great, the kids were downstairs on the small double and we had the king in the loft. There is one server especially in the restaurant who seems to work every single meal of every single day that really goes above and beyond. The hotel was very accommodating to my weird requests like can i borrow a knife, can i keep this oat milk in your fridge, etc. We all loved it and are sad to leave after a week! The location is great, right in the dunes and about 15 minutes walk from the lovely beach. They have a great terrasse too which we used for lunch and drinks with our Dutch friends. It feels like you’re in the middle of nature but really it’s a five minute drive to the centre of Wassenaar or five minute drive to the beach.

The room was very comfortable, but there was insufficient shelving/storage space for toiletries and hand towels in the bathroom. The meals were very good but we noticed that the main courses accompaniments didn't vary and could have been better matched with the dish. Although most staff were helpful, some were disinterested. We were booked on a package which included a complementary bottle of the Cuvée which we were never offered and didn't remember until we had left. Despite explicitly asking for tap water at dinner we were given mineral water and then charged for it. The receptionist dismissed this by saying we would know next time...ouch we will know next time to consider carefully whether we return.

Restaurant and bar were both great. Food was good and Orlando our server was excellent. Rooms were small but nice. Meeting room was also well setup. Only criticisms would be that the in-room thermostat didn't seem to provide any change in temperature and like most hotels in the Netherlands, there was no hair conditioner provided. Would definiteley return.

Large terrace with many tables and a special sandpit for parents with children. View of the beautiful dunes around you. The menu card has a lot to offer. We had a tuna salad and a club sandwich and these were delicious. Plenty of seats in the shade.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but I walked in to ask reception if they could call me a taxi. My elderly mother had walked all the way along the beach from Scheveningen, but was too tired to go back. The Cuban man at reception tried his best, but all taxis were occupied. In the end he drove us in his own car to the nearest bus stop - excellent!

A well located hotel, situated in a quiet location close to Wassenaar beach. However I guess in season the traffic will be busy, and the hotel has a barrier gate to manage its parking spaces. The hotel is a little stark inside, with a lot of dark brown wood and carpet. However our room was well sized and we enjoyed a nice view of the local woodland. Our pre-booked supper was a little disappointing, but the chef made up for this with an extravagent desert. The buffet breakfast did not offer a wide choice, but was well presented. Located on a crossroads for cycle paths, we wondered about walking options. The staff were not that aware of local walking options, but we found two reasonable loops north and south of the hotel which were very pleasant, and of course the main beach is ashortb walk too - look out for the footpath rather than taking the road.

The close proximity to Wassenaar beach is the major attraction of this hotel. In addition, the restaurant menu offers a good variety; the soups in particular are always very enjoyable. Breakfast is also never disappointing. However, the guest rooms require some refurbishment as they are starting to deteriorate.
