Just returned from a 4 night break to Vilamoura and stayed at the Alvaflor apartments.

For a 3 star complex the apartment itself exceeded our expectations – it was very clean, modern décor, specious with large balcony overlooking the pool. Nicely presented bathroom with good shower, hairdryer and fresh clean towels provided everyday if required. On the negative side there was no safe available in the apartment despite our itinerary stating that there would be, this obviously came to a shock to us as we have never stayed anywhere without a safe before! However the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, they kept our passports in the hotel safe for safekeeping until we left.

As to location, these apartments are not as conveniently located as we’d wish, we were aware that it was a short walk to the marina, it was at least a 15 minute walk away and the beach similar distance. The nearest supermarket was again a good 10 minute walk away. However a taxi is only... more
