Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed four nights. Fantastic room. Breakfasts excellent with a wide selection. Great to chill beside pool. Decor tasteful and reflects individuality of owners. Andre and Nicolas are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them.

Wonderful hosts, adorable place! We stayed for four nights. Besides reading and sunbathing at the chateau yard, we ate in many good restaurants in nearby villages (Nicolas & André will recommend and book them for you), went to a market, visited Château du Champ de Bataille, rode bike in the nearby countryside, rode horses at the nearby Top Ten Ranch, and just enjoyed driving around in the beautiful Normandy countryside.

In June 2017 we set off, with our friends, on a trip around France. Our first stop over on the way to the Loire was the beautiful Chateau du Mesnil. The owners, Andre Martin & Nicolas Foucault, could not have been more welcoming. We were later than expected and the nearest restaurant was about a 30 minute drive away so they very kindly prepared platters of cheeses and ham and crusty bread for us. We went to their party room in the converted out buildings and we drank wine and ate and relaxed after our long journey. We didn't actually stay in the Chateau, but in the converted outbuildings. The accommodation was fabulous. We had a whole suite and we were extremely comfortable. The next morning we ate breakfast at the Chateau in a very grand dining room. All of the conserves were home made. We were lucky to be travelling with a languages teacher as neither of the hosts spoke English. We all said that we would love to return for a longer stay. I'm afraid I can't say what the surrounding area has to offer as this was only a stop over on our way to Fontevraud l'Abbaye.
