This was a charming little place and we enjoyed it here. Good points...... Our room was a delight. Spacious, clean and with a lovely bathroom. It was nice to sleep there. Genuinely warm and congenial hospitality with gourmet breakfast enjoyed in a bright courtyard. Hotel located on a cliff with memorable views of the valley below and breathtaking terraces. charged $900 for chair i didn't break then they woulnd't open my door for me when my key didn't work. they told me to go and find housekeeping to let me in at 3am. more

This was one of the most fabulous hotels in our trip to Spain. Make sure you pay for the rooms with cliffside views across the postcard valley. The room itself is loaded --huge bed, fantastic bathroom -- and then there's the huge window looking off across the Spanish countryside. The building itself exudes history, and it's worth it. Getting there is an experience - a tiny, twisting "road" leads to a cliff-and-cathedral-side parking lot; then a short walk thru 17th-century alleyways to reach the heavy wooden door of La Casa Grande. Lovely place with beautiful views, but since there's basically only the desk clerk on site, they don't provide any assistance with luggage. We had to transfer our own bags from the distant city parking lot (through tiny, steep cobbled streets) and up three flights of stairs in the hotel. La Casa Grande was just what we needed after a nerve-racking drive through Arcos. Following the hotel instructions to park in the lot by the Parador we braved the ultra-narrow lanes of Arcos only to find the lot full. Getting back down the hill out of town was twice as bad.
