We were staying at a local campsite and chose this nearby pub for supper. We arrived a little later than we'd intended and found the car park at bursting point. A couple of us went in to case the joint without really expecting to find any spare tables. There were some tables in the bar though, so that was great.... More

We chose this Inn as it is located close to friends that we were visiting. As we approached the Stags Head it looked very impressive. We were greeted with a warm & friendly welcome, We were shown to our room which was very homely and comfortable with all modern amenities. On the first night we dined with our friends in... More

We visited this pub for Saturday lunch. The thatched pub looked pretty from the outside, but I thought the decor would be more traditional inside. We were offered a table promptly. The menu was fairly extensive with appetising dishes on the board. The 'crispy duck' with plum sauce was delivered in less than10 minutes-it comprised slices of uncrisp precooked duck breast... More

We were sorry that you did not enjoy your meal with us, or like the decor, and that you found the service superficially friendly. We try to be friendly and helpful to all our customers and had you mentioned that you were not happy, or required more veg, we would have sorted it. I cannot comment on the duck, everyone's... More

I had slow cooked lamb steak in red wine and fresh vegetables. Followed this with apple and raspberry crumble and custard - absolutely wonderful. My husband had Sue's Burger grill and said that it was fantastic!! He was good and only had coffee afterwards but it was served in a cafetiere so there was plenty. Thoroughly recommend this.

Enjoyed another great meal at the Stag’s Head at Filleigh. Warm Welcome always by the owners John & Sue & Sally and their team. Excellent food, all meat and fish and fresh veg sourced locally. Good choice on the menu, all freshly cooked to order, and served in pleasant surroundings. Much more than Pub Grub and as much choice as... More

Myself and my family vistited The Stags Head Inn on the 8th December where we were welcomed to a warm cosy restaurant and three lovely polite girls who were attentive throughout the evening and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. We all chose four different meals due to their wide selection of food they had to offer, which... More

We booked the stags head as it was a convenient place for several families to meet for a Christmas dinner, our overall feeling on the whole evening was very disappointing for all families, firstly it was a very cold evening and everyone remarked that it wasn't much warmer in the pub!!! Secondly the food, although an excellent sounding extensive menu... More

We were very sad that you were not impressed with your visit to our pub, we try hard to keep everyone happy, but obviously don't always succeed. We note all your criticisms, but fortunately we had 32 other very happy diners that night, and have a good regular clientele. More

we had lunch at this lovely little pub today and the food was very, very good. What I found particularly distasteful was when one of the members of the local hunt, who were eating there too, decided that the topic of rape was suitable for a public place on a Saturday lunchtime and found it amusing to tell anyone on... My wife and I regularly visit The Stags Head at Filleigh .We have been visiting for the last eight or nine years. We are so impressed that we travel from our home in Torbay, a round trip of 156 miles, to enjoy a superb lunch in lovely surroundings. The available menu is one of the largest we have seen .... More

Thank you so much to these lovely people for the generous comments about our pub, we value the comments tremendously. As we also have another site listed in South Molton, we would ask that maybe you could comment on there as most people do. Thanks again. More
