When we arrived we were really stunned how beautiful this building and its garden is. Although checking in was a bit complicated, as the lady who welcomed us could not speak any language apart from Portuguese. However we managed to communicate on a very funny basis. (And we have to say that the owner and the lady serving breakfast spoke perfect English and French.) All this intensified the feeling of travelling in former times, where it was quite normal that locals in rural areas did not speak any foreign languages. The house and our suite where most beautiful. We had a wonderful plaster ceiling and a balcony around our room. The breakfast was very nice with the wonderful cheese, ham, jam and bread from the region.
Speaking with hands and feets the lady recommended us a very nice inn where we ate all three nights. The food was simply great and the owner very welcoming - donating my partner a bottle of selfmade sort of Grappa after asking where we can buy one. more
