We are a retired professional married couple. Have stayed here often in the past. Stayed for 2 nights in February, booked another 2 nights in March. Can't believe some of the negative reviews. The manager, Barry Flint - and his staff are superb. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Our room was comfortable and the food very good too.... More

This place reminded me quite a lot of The Overlook Hotel in The Shining; dingy, bleak, a bit of a throwback to bad old days. One of the chaps on reception was quite rude, although the rest were nice enough. The rooms are small and old fashioned, not very clean, and the bathrooms are stained with green gunk around the... I have stayed here often over years. Has reasonable function rooms, and bedrooms are adequate for money paid. It's not a Marriott and you pay accordingly. V handy for town pubs/restaurants and work sites. Staff on reception always try hard, can be slow at breakfast. Rooms 1-3 are best. Don't go for a single, can be cramped. More

hotel decor was awful like it hadnt been touched since the eighties. There was a cobweb on the ceiling and the corridors smelt damp and musky. The polystyrene tiles on the ceiling were black and some were missing. My bath had a brown stain from the taps dripping water which we couldn't switch off.The breakfast in the conservatory was like a... I stayed here with my boyfriend in December. The rooms were basic but fully equipped for a two night stay. The breakfast looked amazing but took 45 minutes to arrive as they somehow lost our order More

I was in Ware for one night only with my son for a family Xmas, and picked this hotel because of its central location. Checked in at 9pm and left at 11am, so we didn't stay here long... The room was very tired and dusty, but as we were only there for the night it didn't really bother me too... More

My daughter recently held her wedding reception at this hotel, chosen because the price was reasonable and the hotel were very flexible with what they could do within the budget. I didnt personally stay in a room so cant comment on accomodation. However I felt I had to write a review as the manager and hotel staff did everything possible... More

This hotel is overpriced and dirty. We stayed at the hotel when we came to Ware for a family wedding. The room was shabby but definitely not chic! We found a hairball in our bath. We complained, no alternative room was offered or anyone to clean it. The hotel assured us that a manager would get back to us re... More

We stayed here as we were attending a function at the hotel. We paid GBP 75 for a double room which included breakfast, so the price was reasonable. The staff was friendly, but the hotel is shabby and in need of some TLC. Negatives: The bedroom walls had scuff marks all over them and there was dent in the wall... More
