Stayed in 'Palm house' and liked it very much. Its very spacious, comes with a guest room and a huge deck with a nice ocean view. Its little too far from Big Sur, but that wasn't an issue for a weekend getaway. Rooms were not clean and had lots of insects around, but I still rate this an 'very good'... more

Located in remote area on California Hwy 1. Stay if you must. Needed accommodations but should have kept driving to San Simeon. Rooms need repainting and cleaning. In a country that prides it self on a service culture especially when it comes to food, The Whale Watcher Cafe is a serious low point. We stopped @ the Gorda Springs 'Resort' because it had gotten dark & we no longer wanted to drive on Hwy 1. However, we were camping north of Gorda at Plaskett Creek Campgrounds which has no shower facilities (or potable water).
