We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Wispers. The house, up a secluded lane, is immaculate , very tastefully decorated and the atmosphere cosy, relaxed and very friendly. Lovely breakfast with organic produce from the smallholding, including freshly picked raspberries and newly laid eggs. The owners are the perfect hosts and made our stay a proper treat. I stayed here recently with my girlfriend, and we had the most wonderful and relaxing stay. The hosts do everything to make you feel at home, and with roaring fire, excellent bed and stunning views you couldn't find better in the area.

Wispers Lodge Bed & Breakfast. Wispers Lodge B & B is set in tranquil Sussex countryside overlooking the Rother valley with the South Downs beyond. It is surrounded by traditional farmland, but is close to the market town of Midhurst. The location of Wispers Lodge, close to the South Downs and large areas of open common land all within the National Park, make it an ideal base for walking or cycling. The towns of Petworth, Chichester and Petersfield are just a short drive away. Wispers Lodge is a small-holding offering comfortable accommodation and home grown or locally sourced produce.Accommodation: A twin, en-suite shower room with stunning views of the South Downs. Also, a comfortable double bedroom with separate, adjoining bathroom. Both are spacious with large built in wardrobe and tea/coffee making facilities.Breakfast is served in the cosy dining room. We pride ourselves on being able to offer a truly local, and delicious, hearty breakfast. To start, homemade jam and marmalade or honey from our bees, on bread prepared by our son who is an artisan baker. To follow, we serve '\midhurst Royal' sausages and local butchers bacon, eggs from our own chickens and, when the season allows, tomatoes from our greenhouse. We aim to accommodate any specific dietry requirements. Guests are also welcome to use the homely lounge with its wood burning stove and views over the fields to the Downs. A lawned well stocked and attractive garden surrounds the property with garden seats to take advantage of the views. Most special requirements can be catered for. We can offer a pick up service from local train and bus stations or from nearby National Walking Trails. Cyclists are welcome with secure storage for cycles available. There is ample driveway parking space. The Small-holding: We have a good variety of livestock in the fields surrounding Wispers Lodge. Guests are welcome to be given a guided tour, even collect their own breakfast eggs. We have an award winning pedigree flock of Jacob sheep with lambs arriving end of Feb beginning of March. We also have a range of traditional and speciality breeds of chicken with chicks hatch from Easter onwards. We keep Oxford and Sandy Black pigs seasonally and our apiary is located nearby and a neighbouring village. Honey and eggs are all available to buy 'over the farm gate'. ... more   less
