I have been going to the Sun for well over a year and have eaten there about 30 times..... I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal there and the service has always been excellent!! We have lunched and had evening meals from various menus/specials and have never had reason to complain or be disappointed. I have... More

We go to the Rising Sun about once a month or so for a meal and have always been impressed. Good pub food served from a hot plate (so good for a quick lunch) always looks appetising and good portion size. Price is reasonable for main course but deserts have always been a bit pricey. Nice atmosphere with a conservatory... More

I've never stayed at this place, but I've eaten a couple of times at lunchtime, from the hot, served buffet. Food is good, with large portions. Service from the bar is what one may expect, and given the food is served to you at the buffet, difficult to judge. The staff are friendly, so no problems there. Recommended.

I have eaten here a few times and on numerous occasions there has been 17 of us. The food is outstanding and plentyful and the service is always good. The reason we keep going back is not just the wonderful food but the friendly service we always get. Well Done to Mary and all the staff who work here, we... More

We have twice stayed in Rogerstone on holiday and now eaten here 3 times over a 12 month period. On each occasion we had very good friendly service with the food plentiful and of reasonable quality. It is not very sophisticated or cosmopolitan - my London-bred kids found the curries very bland and the steak requested 'rare' was not at... More

Didnt stay here but came here for a meal with my mum and boyfriend after my nan recommended it. Arrived here just after opening time, couple of people were sat down at dinner tables, went to the bar and got told to give the waitress some more time and wait in the bar area (quite grotty). We waited about 15... More

As a local, I have never stayed I the rooms here, however if the rest is anything to go by I wouldn't bother. The place is dated, run down, coupled with poor food and worse service. For some inexplicable reason the older generations seem to love it, probably because you could describe the canteen style slop they serve as marginally... More

This August we happened to come upon this hotel purely by accident. We entered this hotel and were very suprised by how clean and well decorated the pub was. We met with the Bartender and shown the rooms upstairs. The rooms were very spacious as far as rooms go in the UK. They were very clean and well decorated. The... More
