Elementos Naturales (= Natural Elements) is located very close to the ruins near Palenque. Since it is inside the Ecological Zone (= a national park) itself, be ready to experience life in the wilderness! There is space for camping, although this may not be the best choice because of mosquitos and a variety of other insects. One can opt for one of the 'dorms', which are actually bamboo huts ("cabanas" in Spanish) with 2, 3 or 4 beds inside.

The huts are quite primitive, with no furniture except for a bed, a plastic table and a couple of plastic chairs. If you want to know how people live in the jungle, this is the place to be. For those accustomed to greater comforts, this may be a little too wild (since the huts are made of bamboo, it is easy for all sorts of tropical insects to come in through the spaces between the wood and under the door).
