i stayed at margarita and ed's during a visit to the palenque ruins last month. it's a bit confusing as you arrive at el panchan, since there are a few different hotels and the path isn't marked very well. we showed up at reception without any reservations, but it wasn't an issue- the guy showed us to a clean cabana... more

Clean, comfortable, great place to stay and experience Palenque. Stayed at Ed & Margarita's for 260 pesos per night. Ate great food at Don Mucho's while listening to live music. Met new friends from all over the world. more

The rooms were cheap and had hot water, the location was fantastic (just outside the park), and the staff was helpful. I spent a night and Ed and Margaritas last night and it was a pretty good place. They charged me $200 pesos per night. Room is pretty good and it was pretty quiet although Im sure it depends on what part of the complex you are in. Id recommend it. more

We went to Palenque and decided to stay at the El Panchan resort (which is not such a resort you might know from beaches). It has three restaurants (the fourth one, a vegetarian place is closed unfortunately) and two or three different places to stay.
