The hotel is exquisitely located but constitutes an eyesore. In terms of scale, proportions, it mars the landscape. It is a decent conferential hotel with the appropriate collective warmth or lack of it. It is located outside the town and the crisp evening 5 degrees Celsius on Easter day, the light the surrounding craggy Dolomites of Lucania added to the place where street, musicians and harpists have made the town renowned. Courteous reception, adequate rooms and bathrooms.

My first stay in winter was ok, in July nothing was acceptable any longer. Air conditioner broken, frigobar not working, no extra pkugs in room for recharging appliances, the shower towel gets taken away but not replaced, the toilet board is very cheap chinese plastic and does not fit the wc, food not properly cooked (chicken still raw) or low quality (pesto coming from a discount jar). If possible with work, never again.

Viggiano is not exactly a touristic gem so I guess this is a decent option considering. The hotel is old but clean and it has a good restaurant offering two plates meals for a fixed price of 30 Euro. Parking is plenty and free and Internet is not bad but totally unreliable. Sometimes you have to try dozens of times (literally) before being able to log in after connecting (it’s one of those networks that require browser login). The shower space and TV are, once again, Italian standard, meaning TINY in both cases.

I decided to book this hotel as it was convenient for where I was working. The frontage of the hotel looks inviting , with a large parking area set against the mountains behind.Thats where the positives end. The rooms are dated the aircon works but there was no cold air coming out.The tv was very small with only limited channels. The bar area is more like a cafe, very dull the same can be said for the reception area. It is a good way from the nearest town so if you want a change of scenery driving is the only option. All in all very dated hotel needs aircon sorted and bar area.

Average but clean hotel. Quiet with a good restaurant and coffee bar in the morning. Grounds are spacious and nice. Located out of the city center so car is required. Free parking and good meeting rooms.

We stayed at Kiris Hotel in Viggiano (PZ) for a wedding. The rooms were comfortable and fairly standard but it was the food, presentation and service during the wedding that made the whole trip so well worth the time and money. Needless to say that eat-all-day weddings are still popular in southern Italy, they are fewer these days. Kiris had an out door pre-reception reception with hors d'oeuvres, several hot stations and my favourite, the huge wheel of parmesano-reggiano. Dinner which included about everything delicious you can think of lasted forever. A day and night to remember. The next day was spent fasting, drinking cold mineral water and swimming Kiris' Olympic-size swimming pool.

Stayed here twice with colleagues, 2 weeks in a row and 3 weeks in a row.The hotel is clean got reasonable wifi compared to other hotels in Italy. Breakfast is typical Italian few cakes and some filled sweet bread/croissants which is a bit poor for an international group(English, German Dutch, American, Italian) who are used to big breakfast. Lunch and dinner are really good with a antipasti buffet and choice out of plenty starters and main courses fish/meat. I would stay again, we ended up buying our own cheese and ham which we kept in the fridge in the room and we took it in the morning to the breakfast area.

This was my third stay at the the Kiris and thought it was great. We were there for 6 nights in early May. Room is quite comfortable with a balcony. The staff is very attentive and the food in their restaurant is fresh, well prepared, and very reasonably priced. Also, their house rosso drawn from kegs right there is fantastic and very cheap. If you are in the Val d'Agri this is the place to stay.

Yes, the lifts are small, and on this my second week-long stay I noticed that one lift seemed to operate only sometimes. However, the staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant is extremely affordable with good food in abundance. Room size is probably average, and while not luxurious is certainly adequate for comfort (unless you plan to stay inside in your room always, in which case maybe it's a bit enclosed. Bathrooms are clean, have doors to close off from the hall, with an additional door closing off the sleeping area from the hall--so sound control is very good. Only one complaint, and it's internet. Service is available but slow, so don't plan any high-speed transmissions unless they increase the available service speed. Will return in the future.

Stayed here 2 nights Room was very basic, but clean bathroom shower your typical italian size -- small to smaller Balcony but no table or chairs to sit on no chair in room to take outdoors 2 lifts but it appeared only one worked enough room for 2 people and luggage in lift There is a cafe/bar on site which served good coffee and had some great local cakes...yummy We ate at the restaurant both nights and would say these were the best meals we had during our time in italy. Local produce well presented and reasonably priced Friendly and helpful staff Good wifi service in room
