My sister is currently attending Southern Cross University, and we drove up from Sydney to visit her. I had stayed at the Bananatown Motel before (a few hotels down from Safari) and was very happy with the accomodation level so I was looking for something similar - with less road noise.
To be honest, we chose the hotel for it's name, and the outside advertised rate of $75 per night. We also chose it as it is right in the middle of a whole row of hotels on the Pacific Highway and hopefully this would minimise the road noise.
The staff were fantastic, and they put us up in a family room for the same rate as they had no doubles available. Even better, we were able to extend our stay in the same room for the same rate. The room was clean and had everything we needed. There was also much less road noise which meant a better nights sleep.
