The Hotel is lovely and our room had wonderful views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House but Old Sydney (or The Rocks) as its known, is very very expensive. This hotel has a rooftop pool which overlooks the Harbour which is lovely. Average prices around the area were £18 for a Pizza and £6.00 for a beer. There is... More

The Rocks area is just so much fun when visiting Sydney. But this hotel has done soo little to isolate the rooms, it's like trucks are running through your room and early morning you are woken up by the noise from outside. Changed into 3 different rooms, but hotel staff explaines "its's just an old buikding..." More

Excellent hotel and I strongly recommend it. I travel extensively and I am picky about my accommodations. I had some reservations after reading couple of the disapproving trip advisor reviews, but Holiday Inn Old Sydney totally surpassed my expectations. Here’s what I liked. 1) Excellent location (Rocks) with lot of character and choice of good restaurants/bars. Right around the corner... More

Dear Sandman2011 Thank you for recommending our hotel, I am also picky about the hotels I work in and this one is a great one. I concur with all the items you mentioned, our staff are a great asset to us and we cherish the service they provide in a natural and genuine manner. In regards to the safes, this... More

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Old Sydney for 3 nights in January 2012 and were very pleased with our choice. The hotel is easy to get to using public transport from the airport, being a 400m walk from Circular Quay station. It's also in the centre of The Rocks and within an easy walk of the Botanical Gardens, Sydney... More

Dear Chris R Thank you for your kind comments about our hotel. We are truly proud to be the Holiday Inn Old Sydney and it makes us feel great to hear such feedback. We now serve great 'cocktails of the month' on our rooftop to enhance your views of the harbour that are envied in most areas of Sydney. Hope... More

I stayed here for 6 nights from Jan 29, 2012. The hotel is fine. The staff are very helpful. The pool wasn't a factor for me since it was raining during most of my visit and I was here on business. The breakfast setup is fine, but pricey, $18AUD for continental and $27AUD for full breakfast. There's an egg station... More

Dear Roy1977-TheOne Nice to hear you are coming back and can't wait to welcome you back to the hotel. Our Priority Club members are very important to us and upgrades, when available, go to them first. The hotel, being located in the heart of The Rocks, can be very lively and weekdays or weekends there is always something going on.... More

The best thing about this hotel is the superb location, right in the heart of The Rocks close to Circular Quay it's an ideal tourist location. The hotel itself is perhaps in need of some refurbishment but having said that it's clean and comfortable with helpful staff. We didn't use the restuarant, there being too many interesting eating places near... More

Dear Travelingman2710 Thank you for your comments about our hotel. We are glad you enjoyed our location and hotel and hope to see you back soon. For those nights you want to stay in we do have great room service ideas however I do agree, see Sydney and dine in the Rocks area while you are here. Its all at... More

Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Views! Really enjoyed this hotel really a good value and close to Oreint Hotel bar, street fairs, shopping, the harbour. People are friendly and efficient. The views from the roof top pool are spectacular. We will come back again next year. More

This hotel is tourist central for Sydney - overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera house in the lively Rocks area. Rooms and service are fine for the price. Only issues are no real cosy bar - though plenty outside, and the wifi was very slow when I visited in 2011. Train from the airport is very easy if... More

Dear AONE5 Exactly right! Our hotel is in one of the best tourist areas for Sydney. Any visitor to Sydney should pass through The Rocks area, and we are right in the middle of it. Thank you for the feedback and nice words. We do have many bars and cafes around as well as our own offering of breakfast which... More

We were going to a mates wedding across the road at the Quay passenger terminal, 60 seconds away. The hotel is in a great old area of Sydney, beautiful old colonial buildings, the Harbour bridge is just north of the hotel and the Opera house is directly East. The views from the roof are amazing. If you stay there make... More

Dear TC182TC Thank you for your nice comments about the hotel.
