While very basic, this hotel is great value for travellers on a budget. Sure you can find minor faults if you want to be picky but it was clean and acceptably equipped. Three of us stayed here in a triple room and for $99 instead of $270 elsewhere it wasn't a contest. Staff were polite and helpful. Just want a... more

The hotel was OK as far as night stay is concerned. However, does not have any restaurant etc. The room was not cleaned one day out of three days. One of the lady staff at the counter is too rude / non cherrful for being in the hospitality industry. Does not know how to talk to kids and even made... more

Location is ok, not so far from the station. 10mins walking. The room looks all right except some big dusts and hairs on white tiles in the bathroom everyday. They sell Wifi hourly. ($5) The fridge makes a big noise every hour that makes me wake up. The owner couple is rough, casual friendly to me. I saw the arguments... more

The service of the hotel staff were average. Firstly I have to point out is this isn't a hotel that has wheelchair access. It has stairs at the front of the building and stairs at the rear/underground garage. The building itself has four flights of stairs. There is a small court yard which has a sitting area and it has... more

We stayed here on our way to New Zealand and on the way back to the UK. Our room for the first part was on the third floor which was a bit of a nightmare with all our luggage and no lift!!! Having said that the room was really clean and the bed was extremely comfortable! Chris and Vicky were... more

We were three siblings who needed a room with three single beds. They were able to accommodate us for a very reasonable price. The rooms are non smoking, and we requested a ground floor room as one of our party did not like the idea of stairs, and there is no elevator. The room was very clean and everything worked... more

It was my first time to Sydney and we look for reasonable price and easy access place to explore the city. Within one day we already could figure out how to go places by bus from our hotel. Just straight ahead to circular quay by bus. the rooms was very clean especially top floors (since we experienced stayed at the... more

I have now stayed twice at this hotel and have found it a useful and good-value alternative on the edge of the city centre. As others have pointed out is not especially central or near the railway. It is a self-catering establishment rather than a hotel and there is no food and drink available apart from a vending machine. Shops,... more

We chose the Central Railway hotel based on the previous reviews. This is not a fancy hotel but it is clean and neat. Chris and Vicky manage the place, and are great hosts. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Central Railway station, however, it may not be close enough to walk if you have a lot of luggage... more

We found this hotel on a leaflet in the Tourist Inofrmation Centre in Sydney. We checked out of our crap place and decided to stay here at the Central Railway Hotel , which was ver acccomondation for 5 of us. We had a family room on the top floor of the complex. This included 1 double and 3 single beds... more
