we arrived for a one night stay in a king city view room. That is exactly what we got but the room amenities were dated and while the bathroom and room itself was clean, the staff were simply uncoordinated or ineffective. we asked for 2 envelopes and it took over an hour for anyone to bring it to us and... more

Hy husband surprised me with a night at the Intercontinental on Saturday. He found a package online for $310 including valet and full breakfast and the restaurant we wanted to visit was in the bottom of the hotel - so a bonus! As Sydneysiders we have stayed a number of city hotels for functions in the city but had never... more

For our last four days in Australia, we sprung for a club level room w/ opera house view. It didn't disappoint. A nice size room w/modern decor with window seat overlooking the opera house, Harbour bridge, and Sydney harbor -- a delight to watch the ferries come and go, the sun set and the lights come out. Bathroom not large,... more

A typical InterContinental. Location is close to the Rocks area and its about a 15-20min walk to the city centre proper (i.e town hall). Food and drinks generally expensive, so take a short walk to the Rocks area (or the opposite direction towards the city centre) for a range of options. The Club Lounge has great views of the harbour,... more

The InterContinental is still one of the best hotels in Sydney. Modern but intimate with great service. Make sure you have a coffee at The Cortile Lounge and High Tea if you have the time. Upgrade to a Club room for the view, it is just beautiful. Location is great, a walk to just about everything. Reccommend the Museaum of... more

We stayed for night just after Easter at the club intercontinental room and had a wonderful stay. Check in and check out were efficient as was the valet parking. Our room was a little on the small side but it was clean, comfortable and the decor was tasteful. The club intercontinental really made our stay special. The view was phenomenal.... more

We stayed at the Intercontinental for only one night and would love to have stayed a lot longer! We checked in at 9am and were offered a twin room, but opted to wait for our king room. Staff were friendly and attentive. The lobby was full of charm and character, especially the cafe area with the original building façade. When... more

Stayed at the Intercontinental for 2 nights over Easter. Hadnt stayed there for almost 10 years, so decided to give it another go. The rooms have been updated, I had a harbour view room, very nice. The bed was quite soft, as were the pillows, but otherwise comfy. The TV was generous with the cable TV channels, (thanks!), unlike other... more

Unfortunately the staff were not very attentive and on our arrival proceeded to have a five minute conversation whist we waited for them to finish but putting that aside the room (albeit a great view which we requested) looked very tired. The location was good but the hotel itself failed to live up to its 5 stars, that said we... more

This is a steady, good hotel with nicely decorated, decent sized rooms with great views for a reasonable price on wotif.com. The location is excellent if you want to be near the harbour, office buildings and walking distance to shops etc. I have loved going to the Cortile lobby bar and restaurant since I was a kid. It was always... more
