As others have mentioned the Metro Center hotel is really well positioned for much of the city. Hyde Park is a couple of blocks away, Darling Harbor maybe ten minutes by foot, but this is also on the edge of Chinatown and right in the middle of the backpacker scene. The staff was very helpful here. They gave us good recommendations, gave us a fan, and were helpful with directions. We weren't here much because we were out on the town mostly. The room was comfortable and conveniently located. more

We found the room with 2 double beds cramped and the lighting was not convenient. Breakfast provided was functional - same menu every day. Did not find the staff very pleasant (except for an Australian lady and another man). more

The location is excellent. It is 3 minutes walk to Chinatown or Central station. The rooms are newly renovated, but for some reason they did not renovate the bathroom. The bathroom must be about 20 years old. Check out the shampoo and soap in public toilet like dispensers. There were multiple maintenance issue with the room, with missing light bulb... more

Sorry, this review is a little late - but you know how it is... people only put bad reviews on websites such as this... but there is nothing wrong with this hotel. It was a pleasant hotel. Near enough to dining options, the central train station, the monorail (but that's a bit pointless and expensive to really be useful) etc.... more
