First impressions were "oh no, what have we done!" The front door was old and dirty and unwelcoming, the experience didn't get any better!! I wanted a nice character hotel to have a lovely w/e away. What we got was a dirty pokey room, lumpy mattress and pillows, dirty carpet, thick dust, very small room, no place to put anything. The location of this hotel is terrific, but the facility is extremely tired. Do not believe the claims regarding the “charm” of its 1887 origins. Many of the furnishings may date to 1887, but this place can hardly be described as charming. more
