The hostel is in a fairly good location in Woolloomooloo. You can easily walk into the city or to Kings Cross for the backpacker nightlife but it is in a quieter location than if you are right in the centre of the city. I am not a hostel lover but I found this hostel easy to stay at for a... more

I had read mixed reviews but when I arrived reception staff were friendly and hostel was clean. I planned to stay 2 weeks but ended up staying 4 weeks. Had loads of fun and liked the BBQs on roof top and social aspect. Would recommend. more

We started our 2 week holiday in Sydney. It was supposed to be a fun, sight-seeing holiday around Australia. We arrived at the hostel which looked rough even from outside. Once inside we went to the reception where the guy looked appauled to have to do any work. Once in our room we looked at the mattresses which looked dirty.... more

Where do I begin? This hostel (It's a joke that it used to be called a hotel!) is absolutely disgusting. We (myself, my sister and her partner) decided to book a private room hoping that the standards would be slightly better. Definitely not the case. Our first night I woke up at 3am with BUGS on me ( I took... more

This hostel is one of the best in Sydney. It has great rates, friendly staff and is a five minute walk from everything in town. If you're travelling alone then they have entertainment almost everynight and encourage people to talk giving you the chance to meet some travelling buddies! The atmosphere at Harbour City is fantastic! more

Stayed for a week whilst we explored Sydney. Found the staff and vibe of the place to be friendly, with activities every night. Easy to meet people and you can walk everywhere which is great. Can be loud at night but that's Hostels really. Would def recommend more

I've stayed at Harbour City a number of times during my stay in Australia and I love it! It's a down to earth, fun hostel. There's always something going on, the pub crawls are awesome! I found the rooms to be clean as with the bathrooms. The kitchen can get a bit messy at times, but generally it was cleaned... more

I have been to Sydney in 2000, 2004 and 2007. Everytime I stayed at this accomodation. The first couple of times it was OK, but mainly because of it's central location. However on my last stay in 2007 the standards have really fallen. The rooms are not cleaned properly and especially the kitchen is discusting with the floor sticking to... more

I read the reviews before I stayed here but I was going with a group so didn't have much of a choice. I guess if you are a backpacker you would be used to a place like this but I'm not so I didnt enjoy it. We stayed in a double room, the room was basic- only one dead bug... more

we stayed here for 2 nights in a private double room. it took a while to figure out our room, we were given two beds instead of a double then had to try out another room but that had people in it, and then we were given another room whcih had the double bed. seemed quite disorganised but other than... more
