Glowing reviews of this hotel are obviously planted by the operator. The rooms are Spartan and cleanliness is not a priority. The reception closes between 8pm and 8am, as does the phone service. more

I immensely enjoyed my long stay at the Altamont Hotel. I had a comfortable, spacious room with a sliding glass door to small outside patio area. The place is not far from Kings Cross metro station. The manager gave great tips on where to go for dinner, drinks. I don't know if it is the greatest hotel in Sydney, but it is good bang for the buck. more
