Got off to an interesting start when I arrived with a bout of gastro - luckily there is a doctor right next door to this hotel! It was such comfort to be able to see someone straight away. The hotel itself has a fantastic, healthy free breakfast and the rooftop area is brilliant for catching some sun and having a... more

We stayed here for three nights towards the end of February. Our room was acceptable, with fridge, tea & coffee making facilities, air con & a fan. There was a tiny balcony but we couldn't open the door! The view was not exciting anyway, but it was peaceful - no traffic noise. The bathroom was pretty tired and in need... more

The main problem with this hotel is the atmosphere - it's a former nursing home that the current owner/s haven't spent a lot of money converting to a hotel. It's very "beige", with wide doors and corridors for wheelchairs and trolleys, and emergency buttons still in the rooms and showers. The pictures on the walls reminded me of a doctor's... more

Stayed for 4 nights at this small friendly hotel. We thought it was a good location and the walk through the botanical gardens to the city centre a bonus. The location was fine and close to the 'up and coming' Woolamaloo area. it was also close to Kings Cross area and we felt that was OK too. All in all... more

We stayed at the Mariners Court Hotel over new years eve and what a great location this hotel was in. it is about a 15 minute walk to the opera house through the Botanic gardens. the man at reception i believe his name was Robert, was an absolute gentleman who runs an excellent establishment. he was helpful on all aspects... more

We stayed there for 5 nights and really enyoed it. It was clean, nice beds, tv, fridge.. Good breakfast. The location is good if you are not a party person. You can walk to the operahouse and the city centre but you might wanna take taxi home. more

The Lonely Planet is right: it's not the most charming hotel in Sydney - but it might be the best bargain! Location's great: Sydney Opera House is half an hour away on foot through the Royal Botanical Gardens and Kings Cross railway station is a 15 minute walk. Rooms are equipped with a fridge (very handy) and TV and alarm... more

I stayed here for a week in September 2007, and cannot praise the hotel highly enough. I had forewarned them that I would be arriving around 07.30, the managers had said that I could leave my bag, take breakfast, and be guaranteed of my room by 10.00, whereas in fact they made it immediately available. Likewise, I was allowed to... more

Stayed here for three weeks in March '07. Found the hotel to be modern, clean and well run with rooms equiped with all mod cons. The hotel also had complimentry movies, snooker and a great sun roof terrace. The complimentry breakfast was very good quality. The management were very helpful, kind and courteous. The hotel itself is a short stroll... more

Had previously booked hotel for daughters first trip to Sydney and they had such a good experience that they stayed again at end of holiday. We were on an overnight up from Tasmania to get the return flights back to UK. Reception very helpful on arrival. Room on the small size but adequate and clean. Traffic noise negligable but did... more
