Simple, unpretentious rooms with shared bathrooms a few blocks south of Kings Cross down Darlinghurst Road. The Royal Sovereign isn't really a hotel, but a set of rooms above a pub. This hotel appears to have been recently refurbished. It was very clean and not particularly noisy, despite being above a bar (we stayed on the top floor).
