I phoned the morining I arrived to ask for a pickup and the owners happily agreed and that was the start of an unexpectedly wonderful experience.

The vintage car ride in a beautifully restored buick from the airport was acommpanied by pleasant conversation with the gruff but friendly owner of the property. I was dropped off at a conference venue rather than the propety itself and was offered a pickup in the evening. My luggage was taken back to the B&B.

When I arrived at the B&B I was made a cup of tea and a snack and then sat down for a friendly chat with the owner and his wife before heading off to bed.

The property itself is a federation house that has been restored and extended. The decoration is a little overwhelming but the rooms are generous, the canopy bed was new and incredibly comfortable and the ensuite federation style bathroom was spotless and decadent.
