I had a awesome time at the diplomat. It feels like youre sleeping in a hotel but you got the price as a backpacker. The pool is really nice, and the location is perfect. The staff is really friendlly and always helping you.

The Diplomat is your run of the mill motel. The rooms were clean and staff were friendly. We had a room and breakfast package which was great value for a family of four. We are well travelled and chose this hotel for price and location. Booked over the phone and agreed on a price only to find out on check in that they have a fee for credit cards which I wasnt told about and is not on website. I stayed in November with my Mum driving through to Darwin and the room was terrible. The musty smell, crappy kettle, the queen size mattress desperately needed replacing, aircon was very old, noisy and didn't work well and the room over all was very in need of some updating. This was lovely. It was centrally located, next to a great pub and had a pool. I had a great sleep and really liked the room! Aircon was not good though. I haven't got much else to say besides this was a really pleasant stay. Recommended.
