I think maybe this place has recieved a overhaul since the last reviews? we found our room to be large, (with king size bed) clean and had microwave, fridge, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities. The room was cleaned and bed made every day of our 3 night stay. Shuttle bus has to be booked, we caught it from... more

I stayed there only for four days and I wish I could have stayed there longer as I enjoyed this place a lot. Heavitree Gap is located outside Alice Springs. It would take you about 5 minutes to go to Alice Springs by taxi. It's a perfect place if you want to relax. Heavitree Gap consists of some buidings with... more

We stayed here for 6 nights of our trip. Our room was mouldy and rusty - could hardly see through the mirrors due to the rust apperance. The water in the bathroom and kitchen STANK - we assumed it was bore water and it was repulsive. I recommend buying plastic cutlery as the cutlery in our room was stored in... more

Like many others we booked this for the wallaby feeding - big mistake!!! I'd rather stay somewhere decent and pay to go to a zoo to feed a wallaby!! That said I'm sure you could probably feed them even if you weren't staying there. Rooms very shabby, mouldy bathroom - overall very poorly maintained. I don't think there are many... more

After doing my own research on the net, we booked our accommodation and rental car thru Territory Discoveries, they were very good. Heavitree Gap was a bit disappointing tho. The main drawcard for us was the daily Rock Wallaby feeding, I knew the kids would love that. I did read other reviews here also but they were so divided it... more

Me, my husband and three kids (two of them teenagers), arrived here after 2 night's camping in the red-centre. In that sense it was very welcome in that it provided a room with en suite facilities. Motel-style accommodation with door opening straight onto car park.We all stayed in the same room...bunk beds, a double and a single, and it had... more

I wasn't expecting much for the reasonable price, but I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the airconditioning comes in very handy. The staff are friendly and helpful. Some may not like the location as it is at the base of a mountain range outside of Alice Springs, but I enjoyed it immensely, especially when the... more

We only stayed for one night before we travelled to Uluru. We stayed in the hotel and not the lodges. The hotel (?) reminded me a bit of a super 8 type drive in motel. To be honest it really wasn't bad at all. The room was impeccably clean, the bathroom was brand new and the bed was comfy. What... more

Was very outdated. Not very clean. Not comfortable. Had a spring coming out of the bed. They did bring a different one when we complained. The tea pot had mold in. The room smelled musty. Meal prices were expensive nearby and a long ways to town. Shuttle only ran 5 days on weekdays 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to town.... more

We just returned from our trip to Australia and I'm sorry to say, but this was the worst place during our 4 weeks. Thank god we only had to stay there for one night. Neither the bathroom nor the bedlinen was very clean. The pool was ok. The best at this place was the feeding of the wallabies. more
