King's Creek Station is a hyped-up destination. They hide behind their inadequate treatment of paying guests by emphasising how far they're removed from everywhere else, and how expensive it is to get things to King's Creek. Get your fuel and cappuchinos there, but stay away from the accommodation - it's dirty! more

King's Creek Station, Australian Red Centre Date: 22 October 2009 Reviewer: TripAdvisor Member, Pretoria, South Africa Although the staff were friendly and the coffee and milkshakes excellent, this might not be the place to stay over. We would rather recommend that if you're in the area, you stay over at King's Canyon Resort, which is about 40 km further and... more

Hi. Please note that this property is not located in Alice Springs, however their mail goes to Alice Springs. They are located about 300km from Alice Springs, near Kings Canyon. A better postal address may be Kings Creek Station - Luritja Rd, Watarrka National Park. This will assist in stopping the confusion of Kings Creek Station being in Alice Springs. more

We stayed here to avoid the Voyages monopoly in the Red center. We were a little annoyed that, for a permanent tent with only two beds they still charged per person, and it was $140 per person, but we still quite enjoyed our stay, and didn't feel that we were ripped off around every corner. They have a lot of... more

We stayed here in July-09 at a cost of $72.50 per person per night including cooked breakfast (which I'd recommend). It was one of my favourites of the trip. After check in and pay you get escorted by a staff member on a quad bike to the permanent tents. Ours were right almost at the end which was great because... more

My partner and I spent two nights here. We had one of the permanent tents. They were a bit small but adequate. The trailer the bathrooms were in is roomy and kept very clean. I would have liked some counter space, however. Both nights we ordered the bbq pack and extra camel burgers to cook on the grill. The camel... more

Well, we arrived after dark in our hire van but had pre-booked a powered site. The person who checked us in wasn't even sure of the rates. She charged us $18 each. Quite expensive. That's $54 for three people in their own van on a powered site. We were led by a quad bike to our site. it was quite... more

Finally felt that we had reached the real Oz. Had spent the previous night at the Uluru Resort which was great but very commercialised. Kings Creek Station was beautiful. There were camels, emus and roos in a paddock and the station dogs on the verandah. A really special place. We stayed in a safari cabin. These are permanently erected tents... more

We stayed here for 2 nights on a group tour sleeping in swags under the stars.. This station is very well outfitted for campers (we 'swagged' in other locations in the Outback and they were nothing compared to this). In other words, if it's your first and only time camping in the Outback, this is an excellent choice. The campground... more

Our family of 6 spent 2 nights here in the "safari cabins". It was a good opportunity to have a camping experiece without hauling gear around the world. It was comfortable, with a small playground, pool, good food available in the cafe, a camp kitchen and barbeque alternative, and very nice staff. The kids especially enjoyed riding camels, feeding kangaroos,... more
