When we opened the door to our room we were overwhelmed with the smell of an open sewer drain (I believe they let the floor trap in the bathroom dry-out). This was a bad start to the stay and from there I noted that the beds had no comforters and the shower was not clean (stained, torn curtain and hair... more

Having read the reviews before we left we were expecting the accommodation at Kings Canyon to be rather ordinary. We paid approx $250 for a room in the "hotel" accommodation. Supposedly 4 and a half stars, it really is more like a basic three star motel. We had bad luck with our stay as there was a problem with the... more

We stayed in a standard room in this hotel/motel which was quite honestly - dreadful. The room was very poorly maintained and needed a really good clean. The grounds were equally poorly maintained and naturally everthing including the food was a rip-off. I was fully expecting the place to be very ordinary and overly expensive given Voyages' monopoly, but I... more

After 2 nights at Ayers Rock, we came here as part of a package tour. We were supposed to get the same standard of accommodation that we had at AR but this place is VERY basic. Not even any bedspreads??? Fortunately, the Outback Grill is a great place to spend the evening and at the conclusion of our uniquely "Aussie"... more

This was a great one night stay for us between Alice and Uluru. My husband and I hiked Kings Canyon before staying the night at this lodge. The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable. Do not miss the "Sounds of Firelight" Dinner at this place, it is a wonderful meal, I can not recommend it enough! Wine with every... more

All accommodation is expensive at Kings Canyon, so the budget lodge rooms are about the only less expensive option. I guess you have to pay for the remoteness of the place. The facilites are shared with the campground and there is a very basic shared kitchen for self catering. more

Despite hearing how fabulous the location is, it is just a 3/5. We stayed in a deluxe spa room which was clean, adequate, and adequately furnished-- of course, it was overpriced due to Voyages' monopoly there. The big joke on us was a sign at checkin that warned us that "reservations are essential" at the Desert Oaks cafe -- the... more

I stayed in a spa room which is nice and the pool is nice. But there are many things wrong with this property. First, the only place to eat was a cafe -- which is a bit like a 50s style diner. They said "reservations essential" for dinner and we made them and despite the fact that no one was... more

I loved this resort, the rooms were lovely, but I did have the deluxe rooms with the spa which were great. I loved that we got bathrobes and slippers to use. It is in a very nice setting. They have a pool but they keep it at an incredible low temperature which you'd think is nice in the middle of... more

We arrived at the Kings Canyon resort after a wonderful outback drive from Uluru, during which time the wildlife including camels had entertained us at every turn. We booked into a powered camp site spot for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are generally very helpful although we came across a young guy working in the restaurant... more
