We stayed at the Prince Consort hostel for two nights and got an average of about 4 hours sleep the whole time. The room was filthy and clearly never got cleaned. It smelt vile, even though the balcony door was broken and therefore constantly open the fresh air didnt help. Due to the broken door every night until the early... More

We stayed in a 2/3 person private room from 27-30 march 2013. On our arrival we directly noticed that the staff girl was totally not interested in her work. We stayed in a private room, the room was big but did not had a window to get daylight or fresh air. The room was clean and tidy and there was... More

Hi there! I was reading some references from this hostel and firstly I was shocked, however, I decided to book myself in (I kinda had to because every other place was full) and give it a go out of curiosity. I was positively surprised and very happy I stayed at the Prince Consort. Of course, the place isn't new and... More

We just wanted to stay somewhere for the night for an early flight the next morning. We got there at 2pm and waited 20minutes before the reception even opened. We had booked a double room conplete with bar fridge abd aircon. What we got was a kids double bunk bed in a big empty room. Aircon didn't work and the... More

'Twas the eve of stereosonic and a very hot day, so my friends and I found a place to take refuge, 'Prince Consort Backpackers.' Never in my life have I experienced such a disaster. This place is honestly the most senile, disgusting, putrid and foul hell hole I have ever come across. Even people from 3rd world countries, who have... More

I had been in QLD for an interview and decided last minute to stay one night in Brisbane before flying back out to Perth. I got dropped off in the Valley - not having a clue where I was and The Prince Consort was the the first place I came to and was pretty reasonably priced for an 8 bed... More

This hostel is average at best. Firstly the reception is only open certain hours so sometimes people were hanging around to check in. You have to pay $30 key deposit and the $10 for plates and stuff that's $40 before you even stepped into the dorms. We stayed in the biggest dorm (i think 24 beds) The dorms are dark... More

Excellent location in the heart of Fortitude Valley & very close to the airport train line. If you are keen to party and don't rely on 8 hours of sleep per night to function this hostel may be for you. Located above the elephant & wheelbarrow hotel, you only need to walk downstairs to find the action! Prince consort is... More
