I stayed here January 09. The man at the check-in was friendly and directed me to my room. It had a nice balcony and was bigger than what I was expecting, if a little old in style. The cooking facilities in the room were basic, microwave, sink, 2 hotplates, bar fridge. This was an older style motel but had good... more

What a disgusting mouldy dump. Booked on the internet where it promised "convenience in Fortitude Valley minutes from shopping and night life of Brisbane City". Could not be further from the truth it is a long way to Brisbane city and not even close to the main shops in Fortitude Valley. "Luxury accommodation at budget prices" An outright lie on... more

Close to the Vally which is why it was booked. Room was gross, the bed was next to 2 walls so to get out of it you had to crawl down the end of the bed. There was no kitchen, only a kitchen bench, that was right next to your head when you were sleeping. The toliet/bathroom was seriously 1M... more

My sister -in-law booked this motel for us as we had planned a night out whilst I was visiting her from Wales. She hadn't read these reviews before booking but I looked on here when I knew that she had booked. To be honest with you I was really worried as the other reviews were terrible and I didn't know... more

This place does have a distinctive smell of mould and various other musty products. They expect you to pay $10 to park off the street which was a bit odd. Rooms are small but have everything you need and are well kept. Overall this place is worth the price tag but dont expect any extras or good service. more

This place is a dump - nothing like the pics on the internet. I did not even stay there because the smell of mould cause a severe asthma attack. They should be closed. more

Booked this by accident online - wish I was paying more attention. When booked this they didn't say I was getting a budget room. Boy! was it budget the room it was absolute filth and spelt damp and musty very tiny just about fitted the double bed in. There was an interconnecting door to our room which had been locked... more

Arrived for check in, service was a bit lax, not the friendliest hosts. Room was clean but incredibly bland, for what I believed, was excess for the quality. Only stayed the one night, the beds were uncomfortable but bearable. Didn't get to sleep til late due to a hens party with stripper in next building (also part of the hotel).... more

I stayed with City Palms Motel for one night in September 2006, and if I had been booked for longer, I would have changed hotel. The reception staff member was friendly, but didn't show me to my room, and it was a bit of a nightmare finding my own way to it through the maze of corridors and doorways that... more

Stayed at the City Palms for 8 nights. Great value for money. Accommodation is on a self catering basis, and the room is equipped with a small kitchen. We ate out in the evenings, but had everything we needed to cook breakfast in the room. Rooms are a good size, and most importantly, are clean. Bathrooms the same. Walking distance... more
