total dump. like some sort of third world ghetto house. walls looked like they hadn't been cleaned or painted in many years. the check in is under the house and there is a dirty carpet laid out on the dirt serves as a "floor". the owners were really weird. got a vibe that they didn't like white people. window in my room could not close. no a/c. the room was very small and dirty. I would eat anything cooked in the kitchen. the kitchen was also a dump. I could see that later that night lots of rats would enjoy roaming free amounts the filth.

I decided to grab my stuff and run!! I lost my deposits and found a much better hostel just down the road a ways called The Northern Greenhouse. I don't normally write reviews but I want to warn people about this place. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL!. In fact I went and reported it to the Cairns Tourism office. They didn't know this hostel even existed! more
