I stayed here for three nights and a portion of a fourth, in late February, 2009, The location was good, since I had a car, and on the surface it looked OK for the money. Problems happened after 9 PM, however, when the desk staff goes off duty. There was a very noisy family which had booked two rooms, and... more

My wife and I stayed in these self contained apartments this May 2009 for the whole 8 days and my only regret was having to leave to come home. These are not your modern day apartments, they are a bit old going by the high skirting, but lets face it you are not in Cairns to spend all day in your room, you will... more

We stayed here for about a week last october, as we got it for a good price. To be honest it did the job for the money, but the rooms weren't exactly the nicest or the cleanest. The swimming pool is pretty rubbish and was dirty when we were there, i used to be a lifeguard so it's something I'm... more

We stayed at the Queenslander for just one night as we had an early flight and had been staying near Cape Tribulation. The reception staff were quite friendly and helpful with a map and ideas of where to go for a meal etc. The room however was awful. We were on the ground floor looking over the "garden" (a patch... more

I would not recommend this hotel ..but the staff we encountered were lovely..The room was smelly and noisy (plumbing noises and kids) the sensor light came on all night outside and shone through the curtains..plenty of other good places to stay..thankfully I only stayed one night! more

We needed a home away from home for 6 days and we got it at the Cairns Queenslander,Cairns Australia. We had a ground floor unit, which opened to a garden and grassed area for the kids to play,& us to enjoy the sun. The cleaning staff were brillant, floors needed mopping over daily due to kids, clean towels every day etc. It was... more

Booked the Queenslander through a local travel agent after finding it on expedia. Have to say it was not a dissapointment. Especially as we travelled with 2 very young children. The only fault I could find was the restuarant didn't have much along the lines of kids and vegetarian food. Although we only had dinner and not breakfast, this did... more

We chose the Cairns Queenslander because of the price, which was pretty good in comparison to a lot of the hotels in Cairns. LOCATION: As we had a car it didn't bother us so much not being right in the city center. It was about a 20-25 min walk into the city which was quite pleasant, however, if I were... more

We were booked for 3 nights but stayed 6 as we were so comfortable. We had room + balcony + kitchenette. The staff were all helpful and pleasant. Good large safe deposit box was available at reception too. We enjoyed eating in the hotel restaurant. We hired bikes in Shields Street (in the block just before the Central/station shopping centre)... more

We enjoyed our stay in the Cairns Queenslander. We were two couples staying in a 2-bedroom apartment and had the best service imaginable. There were no bad smells (as others have commented) and the air conditioner was quiet in our apartment. The housekeepers came every morning and the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the nearness... more
