Cairns Beach House offer free airport pick up, which is one of the reasons I chose them. I wasnt told where to wait for the pick up so I missed them and had to wait longer for them to come back for me. Booked to stay 2 nights in Beach House as pre tour accommodation before a connections tour - all booked through STA travel. This place is quite a walk (more than 2km) from Cairns Central, so if you go out partying you might take a while to come back home. There is a real party atmosphere though at the place itself, if you're into illegal drugs at least (I could smell pot all through the place). The bar serves discounted meals for guests... more
Cairns Beach House has recently been taken over by new management which might be why it seems my stay was so much better than the other people who have reviewed it. Do not stay here...there are much better places to stay in Cairns. The staff at this hostel were rude and obnoxious and very unhelpful. The rooms stank of stale urine and were damp and filthy. We stayed in Cairns Beach House for 3 nights. The facilities were good but the room was fairly average. We booked a 4 bed apartment with ensuite. The beds were average and the mattress really thin.
