We had a superb week at the Peninsula Boutique hotel. The hotel is superbly placed being both virtually on the beach and in close walking distance to the town. The staff were ever so helpful, pleasant and courteous. We had 2 meals there which were very good and the breakfast something to look forward to. The room was large, very... more

We stayed for 5 nights at the Peninsula at the end of a self drive tour of Queensland. The staff at the hotel were excellent, appartments spotless and really well euipped (kitchen, lounge area, huge bath and shower and comfy bed). The hotel has only 34 rooms and, even though it is on the sea front was very quite and... more

We booked very late for peak season, but got an excellent rate, and even a complimentary upgrade on arrival. A further complimentary late checkout was very welcome on our departure day as we had a late flight out, and therefore a late complimentary transfer. This is a very comfortable hotel with quality furniture and a comfortable bed, it would be... more

The best thing about this hotel is its location- so very close to Macrossan Street and next to the wonderful Four Mile Beach. However, the place has not seen a makeover since the mid-80's with dated furniture and design. The breakfast was not anything to write home about- the same thing, day in day out, an unimaginative display of unhealthy... more

We stayed here for a few nights while on our honeymoon travels and before moving on to the Thala Beach Lodge. The hotel is small, but has all the right touches to merit the title 'boutique hotel'. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Everyone was in a good mood as the Port Douglas Festival (Carnivale) took place. Good points... more

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon. The hotel is small, but perfectly formed! It's right on the beach front - and wow - what a beach! The room was huge - more like an apartment than a standard hotel room. It had a kitchen area, eating area and sitting area and the sleeping area was sectioned off by... more

Very spacious rooms, lovely pool, just by beach (it was full moon), excellent restaurant. Perfect? Unfortunately, it was Easter and on the Sunday & Monday the restaurant was closed. This was the third time this happened to us in Australia. "It's hard to get staff." Why not warn us in the brochure or when booking? I was ill and unable... more

This was our first stop on our 3 week holiday to Oz and this was our favourite of the 4 hotels we stayed in (and one was the 5* Intercontinental in sydney) We had room 10 which was on the ground floor with an Ocean view. The room was huge. The hallway led into the lounge complete with sofa and... more

This small hotel has an intimate feel to it. Being right on 4 mile beach was a plus and it was also an easy walk into town. The bar was very nice and breakfast was relaxing and delicious. There were board games and books for rainy days (which we did not have) and the pool was very clean and pleasant.... more

We really enjoyed our stay and were thrilled to be upgraded to beachside room-having booked a pool view room. The bed was comfy and the room was great- As is the location. Breakfast and courtesy transfers was a deal breaker for us when booking and the peninsular was one of the few offering both in its price range. Breakfast was... more
