Stayed at the Plantation resort, booked through wotif at a extremely good rate, which included cooked breakfast. We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Plantation Resort. There were 20 in our group and we all had a fabulous time. We were extremely happy with our stay at the Plantation resort. If you are looking to be in the center of things in Port Douglas, this might not be the place for you, as it is just on the outskirts of town. We loved our stay at Plantation Resort! First the only negative: it is not in walking distance of Port Douglas, or any restaurants. It is about 25 minutes walking from the beach, but a bit of the path is not so nice to walk on (the choice is either the side of a big road or grass). You can ride... more

This was our second visit to Plantation Resort and we will visit again. We took advantage of the Romantic Getaway Package although we didn't need to be encouraged to dine in the restaurant where the food is excellent as are the prices. Wife and I rented car at Cairns and drove to Port Douglas. Had identified a number of possible places to stay and Planations was our first choice after investigation on the web. We just spent a totally blissful 10 days at the Plantation Resort, Port Douglas. I was a little apprehensive before we arrived as we booked over the net with no prior knowledge of the place. My wife, child (6) and I stayed at the plantation for a week around the holidays. We very much enjoyed the resort. The location is very good (only a couple miles from town). After spending 4 days on the reef, this was an ideal place to relax . Staff was super friendly, the room clean and comfortable and the pool / bar area was so nice I never wanted to leave. A return trip to Port Douglas would definately have me returning to stay at the Plantation Resort. more
