We loved these apartments – bright, clean, well located and fantastic value. My husband especially loved the tv which you could watch in the lounge area, or rotate it and watch it in bed. This was our second time to stay at Tropic Sands and we would return there again. Although it is a relatively simple property it is extremely well kept and managed and the location is terrific. The apartments are very pleasant, quiet, and quite private and perfect for a beach vacation. I highly recommend Tropic Sands. more

What a pleasant surprise!. Lovely one bedroom apartment, lots of space in the kitchen and separate laundry. Manager was really helpful and everything was so close - didn't use the car at all. Didn't expect to get something this nice for the price. more

On first sight this did not seem to come up to our expectations. However after seeing our room and it's close proximity to the centre of Port Douglas we were very happy for the three nights we spent there. While vacationing in Port Douglas in May 2005, we stayed at Tropic Sands for 4 nights and found the apartment to be very clean and convenient to the main restaurants and supermarket in Port Douglas (Macrossan St, 2 blocks away) as well as Marina Mirage (3 – 4 blocks away), where the catamarans leave for the Great Barrier Reef trips.... more
