We had an emergency trip to Rockhampton as my father had been flown in quite ill (on life support). As we had left home in the middle of the night and drove straight to the hospital we had not had time to organise accommodation. We ended up at the comfort inn and really, I was shocked. We have travelled quite a bit and were disgusted by the room that we were given. It was dark with only one tiny little window which you could not open. The smell was so disgusting, it had a very strong mouldy, mildew smell, not only in our room but in the entire motel! Our air conditioner did not work properly and kept freezing up and I as work for an air conditioning company I strongly recommended to them that they service the air conditioner and make sure it gets a coil clean. We requested a fan - never received one. The room was so bad that we actually slept at the hospital because it was cooler and smelt a whole lot better. Absolute disgrace - would never recommend to anyone. more

The travel lodge was booked out and I was slotted into this Motel. I did not have a good feeling but it was late and I would have been donating them the $130+AUD if I had of cancelled. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient and this is where the positives stop.
There are two rooms in the photos as I swapped from one room to the other.

And why bother with the screw down bedside lamps, no one would steal them anyway and you have no useable space on the beside tables as a result. The bed in the first room was so soft you could be mistaken that there were in inner springs in it. The bed head in the first room (note photo) was about 900mm from the main door entry point..what is that??.

The second room was laid out in a superior manner and the bed was OK. All rooms on the balcony and street level have large window area and a large sliding door entry. I would rate this feature as a...

Management response from
ComfortInn08, Owner/Manager

We don't mind recieving comments about the hotel. But when its posted on the website14months after the stay its not a very accurate comment as changes have been made and the motel has gone through 1 owner and 2 managers during this period.
