I was quite nervous after reading the reviews for the Beachcomber but once I arrived I was able to relax. We had an ocean view on the 30th floor that was spectacular. The rooms are dated but clean. The hotel is in the heart of Surfers Paradise and less than 2 minutes walk to the beach. Very good value...stay there! more

The hotel is located in an excellent position. Walking distance to Cavill avenue and beach. However the rooms were old, the beds rolled away from you when you attempted to climb into bed and we were left with the same towels and no toilet paper for the week. Just returned from 4 nights at the Breakfree Beachcomber - it is in a great location, but is a very old hotel (29 years we were told) and need of renovation. This place was fab! Nice and close to Cavill Ave, where all the action is (only one street away) and also less than 50m to the beach! We had a bit of trouble when we first checked in - they gave us a room with 2 single beds, but they apologised and changed us straight away! Nice facilities - restaurant... more

We stayed in a two bedroom unit for 6 nights. The views were amazing, Reception staff were great. Walking distance to heaps of things. Good value for money. more

On arrival wasnt told that it was a self contained apartment and wasnt told when booked aswell. Had to pay an extra $2.00 per towel to hire. Bugs of all sorts in the fridge and all over the walls. Do not stay here! ever! we walked into our extremely dirty and out dated room and where overcome by a horrible stench only to realise that they had just cleaned our carpet and our couches and they were soaking wet when we rang reception to ask about it we were not offered another room but told to turn the fan... more
