Do not stay here if you wish to actually sleep. It was so so noisy, it sounded like people were standing out our bedroom door constantly screaming. I don't think i actually even got to sleep untill well after 4:30am, then had to check out by 10am. Plus the mattress were so bad i could feel the metal underneath me.It... more

I haven't stayed in many backpackers, but ANY place beats Cheers! They say they have a pool and spa... well the spa was NOT working and had rubbish in it and the pool gave me an ear infection!! The Kitchen had rats that we saw crawling through it at night! The fridge was disgusting and fulled with old food, it... more

If you like rules and dislike fun, Cheers Backpackers is the place to stay. The kitchen closes at 8 pm (so if you have anything in the fridge you better get it out before 8!). The hostel has a bar, but they ban all outside alcohol. We came back with some beer and they took it away from us and... more

This is a good place that dosent deserve the bad rap their catching. I was traveling alone for the first time in my life (I'm 26 mind you) and was really nervous, the staff is the greatest human beings on the planet the second I walked in my fears were gone. They have all of the information about the good/notsogood... more

Thankfully only spent the 2 nights here, place was shocking and probably the worst Hostel I stayed at in Oz. Rooms were dirty, dark and musky, the bathroom's were.....well VILE and although they were "cleaned everyday" you would go in right after the cleaners and it would still be disgusting. Offered free transfers too and from the Bus Station, but... more

This place was an absolute cesspool. The floors covered in a thin layer of filth and human hair. The beds had not been cleaned for our arrival.... in fact the door was still open from the previous tenants. My first immediate thought was that it was not secure OR fetid romance had taken place in our abode. The sheets provided... more

The worst hostel we've ever been to! Staff was friendly, but the hostel was filthy. Our room hadn't been cleaned at all and it stank, showers and toilets were dirty... and too many cockroaches... We had booked the hostel for 5 nights, but stayed only 24 hours in that ---. Luckily there were better hostels at Surfers Paradise. Don't make... more

This is the worst hostel I've stayed in in this area and among the worst ever. It's very much a party atmosphere and if you're between the ages of 18-20, are not intersted in getting any sleep, and don't mind having to trek a mile and wade through pools of pee and poop on your way to the vilest of... more
